Safeguarding Policy — Adults

Purpose

Ashburton Repair Cafe is committed to the safety and well-being of all adults who use our services. This policy sets out how we will work to protect adults at risk of harm.

Scope

This policy applies to all trustees, volunteers and staff of Ashburton Repair Cafe.

Our commitment

  • We will treat all adults with dignity and respect.
  • We will take all reasonable steps to safeguard adults at risk from harm, abuse or exploitation.
  • We will act promptly on any concerns raised about the welfare of an adult at risk.
  • We will cooperate with statutory authorities in any investigation relating to the safeguarding of an adult at risk.

Recognising abuse

Abuse may take many forms, including physical, emotional, financial, sexual, or neglect. If you are concerned about the welfare of an adult, please raise this with a trustee immediately or contact the relevant statutory authority.

Reporting concerns

Any concerns about the welfare of an adult should be reported immediately to a trustee or to Devon County Council's adult safeguarding team. Do not attempt to investigate concerns yourself.

In an emergency, call 999.

Contact

For safeguarding concerns, please contact us or speak to a trustee at any session.
